HISTORY Brooklyn Institute of Massage Therapy (BIMT) was established in May 17 2005. Our pilot class was held on August 11, 2005.
APPROVAL Brooklyn Institute of Massage Therapy was approved by New York State Boards of Regents on May 17, 2005. The Massage Therapy program is registered with the New York State Education Department as licensure qualifying. BIMT is also approved to offer continuing educational courses to licensed massage therapist. Brooklyn Institute of Massage Therapy (BIMT) held its pilot class on August 11, 2005. The Brooklyn Institute is an American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) school member.
MISSION AND PURPOSE STATEMENT The primary mission and fundamental purpose of the Brooklyn Institute of Massage Therapy (BIMT) are to educate and train Massage Therapists to be skilled, competent, independent and self-sufficient health care providers to serve the community. Essential to the Brooklyn Institute's purpose is the commitment to be a progressive educational institution that both reflects and values economic, ethnic and religious diversity, responds to a changing health care system and dynamic world and respects individual differences.
